GT 106 and GT 107

FORD GT Chassis GT 106 and 107

The career of these two first Mk2 is very similar. Built at Slough in 1964 the chassis were sent to Karkraft in California to be prepared for the 1965 24 hours of Le Mans, their only race.
GT 106 retired after 4 hours and GT 107 after 6 hours. GT 107 had the pole position and the best lap at 222 km/h
After Le Mans GT 106 was used for testing and after that was stored for a while and lost some of its parts. Later it was sold to a private collector and still exists to this date
GT 107 was too used for development but was later scrapped. Only its nose survived.
