1038 was sold to the Essex Wire Team early April 1966 just in time for the test days at Le Mans a couple of weeks later. It raced 3 times in 1966 as a Essex Wire entry: at Silverstone (6th) at Spa for the 1000 Km race (3rd) and at Le Mans (DNF)
Sold to Paddy Mc Nally at the end of '66 it was raced only once by its new owner at Sebring early 1967. The car had basically the same Essex Wire livery but Mc Nally replaced the red stripe by a black one with red borders. It was later sold to John Jordan who raced it intensively in England in club races until the end of the 1970 season. He sold it to a collector who owned it for the next couple of decades.
