Sold to Mario Casoni, 1048 has been raced by its owner through the 1966 and '67 season mainly in the Italian mountain championship entered by Casoni and later by the Brescia Corse team he owned. It was sold to Willie Konig in 1968 who raced it once at Norisring. Then the Frenchman J.P. Rouget bought it and raced it a couple of times the following years without any success: an accident in the practice of the 1000 Km of Paris, another spin at the Casablanca GP and it caught fire at the 1971 Le Mans test days.
Sold as a burnt out chassis it was rebuilt by Franco Sbarro in Switzerland over the next few years.
