After starting its career as a show car for SAI (Shelby) and Ford France for 2 years 1020 was upgraded to the latest race specifications in 1967. Painted in Ford France colors it was seen at the Le Mans test in April that same year. Then it was raced at Spa and Le Mans ( both races: DNF ) After 3 more races in the French championship (a victory at Montlhery in October) the car was sold to the famous collector Pierre Bardinon. The car is presently on display at the "musée de l'automobile" at Le Mans.
