FORD GT40 Mk1 Lightweight Chassis AMGT40/2
AMGT2 like it's sister car AMGT1 raced at Sebring in 1966 (DNF) and was sent to the April Le Mans trials and for the same reasons (see page about AMGT1) was sold at the end of 1966. But unlike AMGT1 its new owner Paul Hawkins raced it extensively in the 1968 and 69 seasons with success and kept on developing it. The car has been reconverted to GT40 Mk1 specifications to be able to be raced due to the new FIA regulations.
It was sold to the Escuderia Montjuich and was raced by Juncadella, its new owner, during the 1969 and 1970 seasons. After its racing career ended, the car was sold to a private owner, changed hands several time and is still in existence.
