Property of Belgian racer Jean Blaton, also known as "Beurlys", 1078 was entered in 1968 by C. Dubois at Monza (7th) and Le Mans (DNF) and by Ecurie Francorchamps at Spa (DNF)
At the 24 hours of Le Mans, its last race, its driver Willie Mairesse badly crashed at Mulsanne. Mairesse, seriously injured, would never be able to race again. The wreck was sold to Franco Sbarro in Switzerland and was slowly rebuilt over the following years and on completion was sold to a private owner. It changed hands a few times and is today restored in its beautiful Belgian yellow livery.
