Although 1008 was built to race specification in 1965 it never raced. It was tested by Alan Mann team (with Graham Hill at the wheel) at Goodwood at the end of 1965. It did the motor show round as a lookalike of 1046 (the winner of 1966 Le Mans 24 hours) and a few years later as a lookalike of 1075 (the double winner of the 1968 and 1969 Le Mans). It's in between these transformations that the car was used in the TV serie "The Avengers" (episode : From Venus with love) staring Patrick McNee as John Steed and Diana Riggs as Emma Peel.
1008 is now restored to it's original 1965 configuration. Some of its original parts have been used to built 1009A (See next chapter)
